NeuroVir_NBT
NeuroVir facility seeks to generate customized viral vectors optimized for research projects in neuroscience. It aims at producing recombinant adeno-associated viruses (rAAV) and neurotropic viruses (in particular the rabies virus) for gene transfer experiments in a wide variety of research models (in vitro and in vivo; rodents and non-human primates).
Services/Expertise:
• Production and concentration of viral particles: rAAV and rabies viruses
• User advice: serotypes, pseudotyping, choice of promoters, etc
• Design and production of plasmid constructs
• Validation of in-house generated tools (plasmids or viral vectors) using molecular and cellular biology techniques, and/or stereotaxic injection of viral vectors
• Research and development in particular to optimize viral vectors used in non-human primates
Technical approaches:
• Production, purification and concentration of viral vectors
• Design and engineering of recombinant rAAV
• In silico design and engineering of plasmid vectors
• Cell culture and transfection
• Biochemistry
• Cytometry
• Stereotaxic injections
Equipment:
• Biosafety levels L2 and L3
• 1 Ultracentrifuge
• 3 BSL-II hoods
• 3 CO2 incubators including 1 equipped with an orbital shaker for culturing non-adherent cell lines (used for upscaling viral productions)
Access to services of NeuroVir facility:
The platform’s services are open to academic research laboratories as well as companies.
Users must submit a request via the NeuroVir form on the OpenIris website (https://iris.science-it.ch/) and must first obtain all the necessary authorizations for the use of GMOs.
