Thursday 16 February 2023, at 1 PM, Laurent Vinay meeting room (INT, R+1)

First meeting of the year of the users, collaborators and friends of the INPHIM, the INT’s photonic imaging facility.

Inspired by the excellent initiative of the Neurotech Center, we will also propose pizzas. The idea is to held these meetings on Thursdays, once a month, alternating the INPHIM meetings with the Neurotech Center seminars. We will talk about it on the 16th.

For this first meeting, we have the chance to hear from some users about their work :

  • Laura Caccialupi da Prato (INT, ImaPath team) will talk about her results in clarification and lightsheet imaging of the spinal cord of triple transgenic mice
  • Heather Etchevers (Marseille Medical Genetics) will present her results in 3D imaging of vessels and nerve fibres in embryonic hearts at different stages of development
  • Corinne Beurrier (INT, BaGaMoRe team) will talk about her project on slice imaging with Acetylcholine sensitive fluorescent indicators

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, whether you are the more experienced microscopists or just the curious ones who are thinking of getting into it one day. For regular users, attendance is rather encouraged, as your input will be extremely valuable and will ideally allow to : – create a space for exchange and sharing of knowledge and experimental methods related to optical microscopy techniques
– bring together users and facility actors for general discussion and to raise technical points, needs and questions
– to present new equipment and its specification
– discuss your scientific projects
– to discuss and/or present latest scientific developments (in the form of journal club)
– to allow colleagues interested in optical microscopy to get familiar with the methods

The content of the meetings may also vary according to the interests expressed by the users. We are definitely open to proposals from you and even encourage you to contact us, even just for informal discussion.
For example, with your help and participation, we could organise thematic sessions where we analyse existing solutions for certain problems (some examples: methods for 3D image processing and segmentation; pipelines for processing and analysing functional imaging data; depth imaging; free behaviour imaging…). We will take advantage of this first meeting to discuss this with you and see if there is a need and interest.
