Lancement de l’essai clinique SpasT-SCI-T par l’équipe MRS

Publié le 04/07/2025

A blood biomarker to diagnose traumatic CNS injuries and predict spasticity.

Background:
Spasticity complicates recovery after spinal cord or traumatic brain injury and significantly impacts quality of life of patients.
Study objective:
To validate new blood biomarkers derived from sodium channel degradation (by calpain) to:
– Assess the severity of spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury.
– Predict the risk and progression of spasticity

This study is performed in close collaboration with the Departments of Neurosurgery, Intensive Care, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
