Title: Quantifying behavior and modeling the brain with machine learning
Abstract: Quantifying behavior is crucial for many applications across the life sciences. To tackle this challenge, I will present machine learning methods that enable robust zero-shot performance for pose estimation, GPT-based systems code-free data analysis and action segmentation tools to parse videos into specific, expert-defined actions. Quantifying behavior also enables novel ways to model the sensorimotor system. I will discuss normative approaches for modeling proprioception based on behavioral data, biomechanics models and machine learning.
