Abstract:
The team P3M studies mechanisms by which neurons and glia of the spinal motor network operate to generate locomotion and posture. It also studies neuronal, glial and neuroinflammatory responses in spinal networks following a spinal cord injury (SCI), with the ultimate goal to transfer findings at the bedside by devising innovative treatments against spasticity. Tony Barbay and Florent Krust, both pursuing their PhDs, will present their studies on the role of specific potassium channels on the plasticity of the spinal locomotor network under both physiological and pathological conditions.
