Impact du profil d’attachement sur les effets des traumatismes infantiles : déterminants cognitifs et mécanismes sous-jacents
Abstract: This work delves into trauma’s impact on attachment, epistemic trust (ET) and suicidality. In two studies involving patients with affective disorders, the relationship between childhood trauma (CT), attachment, and suicidality was examined. In the first study, we demonstrated a complete mediated effect of trauma on prior suicide attempts through avoidant attachment. In the second study, anxious attachment mediated the link between CT and suicidal ideation, with psychological pain acting as a conditional mediator. The findings indicate that avoidant attachment and CT heighten suicide risk, while psychological pain intensifies the impact of attachment anxiety on suicidal ideation. In a third study, the relationship between traumatic
experiences, attachment and ET was investigated. Results indicate a direct positive effect of trauma on ET, which reversed when attachment avoidance was introduced as a mediator. Results are integrated into a developmental model of suicide.
